  • Meet the Greek gods and test your memory of Greek mythology while visiting the Acropolis in Athens, Delphi or Olympia.
  • Discover the spectacular grandeur and beauty of the monasteries of Meteora.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Athens, Greece

After you’re settled at the hotel, today is yours to explore. Stroll down the three kilometer pedestrian zone to gaze at the archaeological wonders surrounding you. Stop for coffee at a café in the Plaka, the oldest district in Athens built on the foothill of the Acropolis. Explore the ancient Agorá marketplace and experience the place where democracy was born!

Day 2

Athens, Greece

Meet your guide this morning to discover the heart of ancient Greece with a tour of the Acropolis, with archaeological exhibits dating back over 2,000 years. Walk around sites such as the impressive House of Parliament, the National Gardens and the surviving columns of the temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch.

Following a visit to the Acropolis museum, you will have the remainder of the day at your leisure to continue to explore Athens. We recommend a visit to the National Archaeological Museum, where the most exquisite ancient artifacts of Greece are preserved.

Day 3

Athens, Greece

Today you will venture outside of Athens to the historic UNESCO-listed ancient ruins of Delphi, where the celebrated Oracle provided mysterious and inspired wisdom to the rulers of Athens. Main attractions here include the Sanctuary of Apollo and the Sanctuary of Athena. Greeks believed that Delphi was the center of the world, so as you climb to the top, admire the breathtaking outlooks at every turn.

From Delphi, travel to the high-altitude of 3,117 feet above sea level to the village of Arachova and enjoy a relaxed lunch and a cup of strong Greek coffee.

Days 4 & 5

Crete, Greek Islands

This morning, you will fly to Heraklion, Crete—the “birthplace” of Greece. Spend the next few days visiting the charming villages, taking gorgeous drives along the coast and stopping at archaeological sites like Knossos and Phaistos.

For more active pursuits, the Cretan countryside offers a wide variety of options like hikes, scenic drives, and visits to ancient towns and villages that are preserved in time. Visit Chania where Venetian and Turkish architecture are blended together. Istron, a real working Cretan village filled with many olive and citrus groves and quiet walking beaches, is another option.

Day 6

Crete, Greek Islands

Today, experience the famous sites of ancient Crete with a private tour of the Minoan Palace of Knossos and the city of Heraklion. With your expert local guide, walk around the ruins and excavations of the island’s vast ancient palace, and learn about the Greek mythological tales that are linked to it.

Following your tour, return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure.

Day 7

Santorini, Greek Islands

Today catch the ferry for the journey to Santorini. The top attraction here is the island itself. It’s far better to make haste slowly, linger on the black beach at Kamares, and stroll Thira in the early morning when the town belongs to the locals. Most importantly, wherever you are, enjoy the view. There’s nowhere else in the world, let alone in the Cyclades, with that stunning caldera view.

Day 8

Santorini, Greek Islands

Have an early breakfast then sail along Santorini’s blue waters on a secluded cruise, where you will enjoy a refreshing swim at the Red Beach and a picturesque lighthouse south of the famed caldera. Activities include snorkeling, volcanic beaches, and natural hot springs.

In the evening, try something a little different and stop by Donkey Brewery for a quick tour and sampling. For centuries the island has been a prominent producer of wine, but Donkey Brewery has caught the attention of local and international beer enthusiasts alike.

Day 9 & 10

Santorini, Greek Islands

Save your last two days in Santorini for relaxation, basking in the sun poolside at your hotel, or wandering into Fira town for an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing.

For your final days, we recommend a walk from Fira to Oia along the Caldera. It is considered one of the prettiest walks in the world and takes you along the rim of the island through local villages.

Day 11

Departure

Today you will check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport and fly back to your home destination. Αντίο!
