Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Arusha Coffee Lodge

Arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Arusha Coffee Lodge.  Situated in the middle of a verdant coffee plantation, the lodge is an elegant sanctuary surrounded by gardens and trees. Relax at the spa or swimming pool after your long flight, and enjoy delicious meals prepared with locally-sourced ingredients.

Day 2 – Travel to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Manyara airstrip, where you will be met by a driver from the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands on the way up to the rim of the crater, a 100-square-mile caldera that is home to rare black rhino, lions, elephants, and huge herds of ruminants. Enjoy lunch at the lodge with views looking out over the crater, with the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater Excusion

Descend into the crater—over 2000 feet to the plains below—for a full-day tour of this singular landscape surrounded by the intact rim of the caldera. Forest areas provide habitat for elephants, monkeys, and birds, and the vast savannah is home to large predators and herds of antelope and wildebeest. Spend another relaxing evening back at the lodge on the crater’s rim.

Day 4 – Serengeti National Park

Transfer to Manyara airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park, which is home to an incredible abundance of life—everything from large predators to more than 500 bird species. You will be met by your driver and brought to the Singita Faru Faru Lodge. After lunch, go for a game drive and then spend the evening lounging by an infinity pool or at the spa.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park is home to vast numbers of wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle, and zebra which gather during the Great Migration. Explore the park on morning and afternoon game drives, watching for the predators that move with the herds. Even when the migration has moved north, the Serengeti is brimming with life.

Day 6 – Fly to Zanzibar

Transfer to the Manyara airstrip for your morning flight to Zanzibar by way of Arusha. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your beach resort on the northwest coast of the island. Known as the spice island for its production of cloves and cinnamon, Zanzibar played an important role on historical trade routes and was once the jewel of the sultans of Oman. Settle into your resort and relax along the clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

Days 7-11 – Exploring Zanzibar

For the next 5 days and nights, savor the leisurely pace of island life, sunbathing alongside the resort’s pools, enjoying spa treatments, and swimming in the ocean. Take in some of the history and exotic sights of the island on a walking tour of Stone Town, a visit to a spice farm, or on day trips to the Jozani Forest. Get out on the water on a deep sea fishing excursion, a catamaran ride or sunset dhow cruise, or explore the coastline scuba diving or snorkeling. Relaxing along the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean is the perfect complement to your visit to several of Tanzania’s wild and majestic parks and reserves.

Day 12 – Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your resort and then transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your short flight to Dar es Salaam, where you will connect to your international flight home.
