Overview
Rome – Pompeii – Amalfi Coast – Capri
Ancient Italy allows you to linger longer in the capital city of Rome – seeing more of what makes it so unique. You’ll even have the chance to venture just outside of Rome to Tivoli – home of Villa d’Este with it’s Renaissance palace, gardens, and plethora of fountains. Heading south, experience the towns of the Amalfi coast with a stop in Pompeii as well as a visit to the stunning island of Capri.
Ancient Italy
Day 1: Arrive in Rome
Arrive in Rome after your overnight flight. You’ll be met at the airport for a private transfer to your accommodations. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2: Rome
Private, three hour tour of Ancient Rome: Discover the ruins of the Roman Forum, the imposing Coliseum, and the Palatine Hill.
Day 3: Rome
Private, three hour tour of the Vatican Museums: Experience one of the greatest concentrations of masterpieces in the world – your visit includes the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of St. Peters.
Day 4: Rome
Continue to discover Rome at your leisure: Visit the many piazzas, churches and museums. Or take a day trip to Villa d’Este in Tivoli, home of over 1,000 fountains and magnificent gardens.
Day 5: Rome
For your final day in Rome, consider a Food Tour in Trastevere, the neighborhood known as the center of Roman cuisine.
Day 6: Pompeii/Amalfi Coast
Take a train from Rome to Naples, and you’ll be met for a private transfer toward the Amalfi Coast. Along the way, stop for a guided tour of the wonders of Pompeii. After the tour, sit back and enjoy the magnificent vistas as your driver navigates the Amalfi coastline.
Day 7-8: Amalfi Coast
The next two days are yours to explore the charming coastal towns of the coast, including Sorrento, Ravello and Positano and to spend time soaking up the sun at your beautiful seaside resort. Additionally, a private driving tour of the coast can be arraged for you.
Day 9: Capri
Enjoy the enchanting island of Capri with a full day, private tour. Make time to explore the elegant shops around Capri’s main square before you set sail for home.
Day 10: Departure
With your Italian holiday over, a driver will pick you up for a private transfer to the airport for your flight home.
